The 2010 AVID Summer Institute has ended. I know we all agree that the institute was a huge success. The information and activities presented in our Strand provided a good foundation of AVID philosophies, techniques, and strategies. Also, getting to work alongside great educators and facilitators was empowering, to say the least. Selfishly speaking, I do not want to lose access to any of the great minds that I worked with. Each of you had obvious strengths that would prove helpful as we all "AVID-ize" our schools and communities. This being said, I have created this portal to facilitate communications between all of us that worked together in the Implementation Strand, as well as anyone else who shares the common goal of making students better people. I encourage you to browse the portal and help me create a virtual environment where we can all share ideas and strategies that help foster successful AVID programs at our sites. Feel free to speak freely and honestly with regard to your experiences, but I ask that we all agree to adhere to professional etiquette and conduct. I want this site to be a place of resource and sharing with the goal of not only creating successful avid communities at our respective locations, but in achieving our vision of a global AVID family.
